Why love Israel and the Jews?

Moshe Katz asks,"Well, how can you love Israel if the only road to salvation is through Jesus Christ?" To those Jews who agree with this and those Christians who feel no connection to Israel and her people I submit that G*d has made eternal promises to the Jewish nation that are not conditional on their behavior. G*d deals with people as individuals in salvation and with nations in covenants and judgment.

In both the old and new testaments physical Israel is promised a place in the world as its capitol in the end. If the nation is killed by the death of all Jews (a goal of the Muslims, and a frequent goal of the rest of the world at least since Haman) then G*d is a liar. Both Judaism and Christianity would be proven lies. This is my first point.

My second point is that as a Christian G*d has put love for the Jews in my heart. It is difficult to hate those that your beloved one loves, no?
