Reader comment on item: Why the Left Loves Osama [and Saddam]

Submitted by Brad Sprague (United States), Mar 22, 2003 at 02:53

In the words of former Ohio Congressman Bob McEwen, if you are under 25 and you are not a liberal, you don't have a heart! If you are over 35 and are not a conservative, you don't have a brain!!! Nobody wants war and the destruction of innocent lives but most want someone to deal with the bully on the block. We are the only world super power and the consequent cop on the block. We are getting rid of a bad man that the Iraqi's couldn't get rid of themselves because of fierce oppression and violence of Saddam's regime. We are not targeting non-combatants. Colateral damage and infrastructure damage is being kept to a minimum. The oil terminal used for the oil-for-food-program was captured by the Navy Seals without firing a shot, securing the economy of Iraq for the near future and keeping oil prices down for the world!

Saddam had his chance to give up his Scuds and chemical weapons and he chose not to. He chose to put himself and his people in harms way one last time and it has backfired again. His people want what we have here! Freedom! Freedom to worship, speak their mind, and succeed in life! They want the good things for their families, food, clothing, shelter, and security. Defecting Cummunists from Russia(like Victor Balenko) found that everything that communism was striving to do in Russia to create teh new cummunist man was already existing and thriving here! And had thus far failed miserably in the U.S.S.R.

For a greater understanding of why, read Bob McEwan's book, "Politics as easy as Pie". Freedom to pursue happiness is the only way to lasting peace. I think Jehovah knew that when he said we ought to have a free will to decide our own path, and be held responsible for our actions!
