The Leftovers

The leftover ideologies of Marx, Mao, and Muhammed are embraced by the political left, who are aided by the moral comfort endowed to them by the religious hierarchy and empowered by cynical scholars and Hollywood drama queens (generic gender implied).

Peace, the moral high ground on which the left has claimed sole proprietorship, is to be attained at all costs, the killing fields of the Butcher of Baghdad, the Chairman of China and the prophet of imperial Islam not withstanding.

We, liberals, conservatives, middle of the roaders people have all wondered why the moral high ground left would defend political monstrosities in the name of peace. Professor Pipes' provocative and stunningly reasonable argument is the answer.
