Karl Marx

Reader comment on item: Why the Left Loves Osama [and Saddam]

Submitted by Mark Hancock (United Kingdom), Mar 21, 2003 at 08:55

The new left has very little to do with Karl Marx. Marx praised America for it's freedom something which was alien to Europe in the 1800's. Marx also obviously believed in a secular state. So I cannot understand how the Left can jump in to bed with anyone SIMPLY because of hatred of America. And their new best friends France got rid of Marx so he had to flee to London.

These people may be students but they lack any intellect. The belief that Anarchism involves smashing a Starbucks window or leaving graffiti on a McDonalds must make Michael Baukin turn in his grave as well.
