Comments on the leftReader comment on item: Why the Left Loves Osama [and Saddam, Explains Lee Harris] Submitted by Sharna Fetman (United States), Mar 19, 2003 at 16:19 Dear Dr. Pipes:I believe this article simplifies and automatically villifies as"left" everyone who does not agree with the war. I am no lover of Saddam. I am also a student of history and understand well the lesson of World War II and the problems of appeasement. However, the sheer lack of diplomacy and respect shown by everyone--including Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Bush--for our backers and detractors in Europe and around the world is shortsighted and appalling. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
