Sword, I for one am so sick and tired of the notion that only white Westerners are capable of racism. Racism occurs to some extent in all societies. I think that racism is wrong; however, making one group of people feel eternally guilty in order to allow other groups to claim eternal victimhood and thereby gain all kinds of special treatment and concessions is wrong in my opinion. There is a backlash coming, especially amongst younger people, because you can only make people feel bad about themselves for so long before they start to rebel. I think it is only human nature.

I am having a discussion on the forum "anti-Muslim racism" with an Australian Muslim convert, who doesn't understand why any Western country has the right to maintain its culture. He seems unmoved when I tell him that Muslim countries have no problems insisting that their traditions be observed and culture be respected. I guess the way some people look at it, by not making constant concessions and accomodations to Muslim beliefs, one is being a racist. Well, I disagree.
