Dear Prof Pipes,

The problem faced by Europe is very small compared with that faced by India from its Islamic neighbours viz., Pakistan and Bangladesh -especially the latter.

According to one estimate,20 million Bangladeshis have settled down not only in the adjoining states of West Bengal and Assam, but are in good numbers in metros like Delhi and Mumbai. One wonders why the Muslims of these Islamic countries come and settle down in secular India? This immigration is a big headache to the Indians in general. The problem instead of being solved, is getting complicated because of vote bank politics. Unfortunately, this does not get publicity in the Western media.
