Hello Mr or Mrs,

As a Hindu person, I am very saddened by the lack of reasoning from Mr Anil Mittal, but that is not a reason to make judgements on a social caste system that is no longer LEGAL in DEMOCRATIC INDIA, the largest democratic nation in the world. The caste system was a system that work for its time. At the present we lable people by their class, here in the western world, we have low income class, middle class, upper middle class, the wealthy class, the elites, etc... back in the days in England, they had the Aristocrats, the labourers, farmers, etc...each country back in the days had their own kind of class system to distinguish the fortunates and less fortunates. Princes did not mingle with peasants and peasants did not marry princesses.

As for the caste system of ancient India, please elaborate on which one; are you referring to social or religious caste system? As for the social caste system, I have given you a more insignt perspective on it and as for the religious caste system, that is a totally different story, the poorest man can belong to the highest religious caste because the religious caste system is not something that you are born within but acquire within your lifetime. For a more detail info about the religious caste system, you can click here: http://www.hinduism.co.za/newpage8.htm

Take care.
