New Routes to the West or old moves

Reader comment on item: [West Africa:] New Route to the West

Submitted by Nenette Grunberg (United States), May 30, 2006 at 23:16

Man made his appearance on our planet in Africa around 5 million years ago and man has been moving ever since , first to find food and then slowly as man learned to hunt he also became a conqueror..The purpose of my letter is not to rehash history but to point out that we the elites, meaning the western europeans and the U.S.A. better described as the fat cats of the world who just woke up after a thirty (give or take a decade) some years long nap . We suddenly feel crammed. We walk down our malls and we don't look alike anymore. And so many languages surround us. What happened to just french, just german, just english ! When did all this change take place ? When did they move in . Because " While we were sleeping " How did our borders become so easy to cross . " Because " While we were sleeping ...." . Why do so many want to hurt us? Because Man has always been on the move and now he also wants to conquer the fat cats.
