Once again, you're making up an argument I never made!

in response to reader comment: You are wrong on Rome Kevin

If you can tear yourself away from your King James lollypop for a moment...

1. I never made any mention of third-world peoples. None. Zip. Nada.
2. If you can read anything that does not equate Jesus with human destiny, try reading Edward Gibbon's "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire." (My only mistake was thinking the title was "The Rise and Fall..." rather than Decline and Fall.). And Gibbon's history of Rome is JUST EVER SO SLIGHTLY more highly regarded than yours. Sorry to break the sad news.
3. That Rome was despised by her subjects is ridiculous: EVERY nation that ever existed was/is despised by a portion of its population.

Indulge your vanity and sense of self-importance as you like, Dick. I have no more interest in addressing your hyper-Christian rantings. You have my blessing to get the last word. Your input ranks alongside Harrak's for its myopia (and at least Harrak is original).

I must leave now. My allergy to sanctimonious cant is acting up.
