Trump's boorishness

Reader comment on item: Why I Just Quit the Republican Party

Submitted by Ann Wiggins (United States), Jul 21, 2016 at 14:27

I am aware that many people are upset with Trump's lack of political correctness. He was not my original choice. However, watching big government take over in Turkey, the original reason I wrote to this column and very much aware of the corruptness of the current administration I will support Trump. Leaving the Republican party solves nothing. If you are truly concerned with the political atmosphere and lack of "polite culture" you would remain within the party and strive to make changes.

You mention Lincoln and Reagan, these are the men who stood for and upheld freedom and dignity for all men. The party of Trump's alternative is the party of slavery, (the Democrats did not vote for the civil rights bill), it is the party wanting to allow anyone into the country without any checks, (look at France), it is the party of stifling regulations which hinder low income citizens economic progress and it is the party curtailing speech.

I am sure you are aware that certain words are taboo. For all his boorishness he is a far better pick than Hillary. She is not trustworthy and I find that more frightening than boorishness.
