Irrational fears?

Reader comment on item: Why I Just Quit the Republican Party

Submitted by Stein (United States), Jul 27, 2016 at 17:21

The article,"Why I Just Quit", seems to lack substantive criticism.

The impression is, the fear is irrational against Trump. The objections that the article mentions largely refer to "what if" scenarios that have never happened. And seem unlikely to happen.

Personally, I tend toward the political center, was happy with Bill Clinton, and expected to support Hillary Clinton. Unfortunately, the foreign policies of Hillary Clinton - including her support for Islamist causes - have proven to be earth-shaking, serial, failures. The combination of alienating US allies, and legitimizing (even financing, even weaponizing) US enemies, is intolerable.

During this election cycle, I am in a mood for anyone except the Democratic party.

My impression of Trump is, he is a reasonable choice for presidency. He is moderately religious. He seems tolerant of gay citizens. He has personal ties to Judaism and the State of Israel. Initially he assumed two-statism in Israel to be workable, but fortunately seems willing to drop two-state delusion. He seems knowledgeable about the day-to-day circumstances of those Americans who have low income. He seems willing to do something to protect the poor, including trade agreements that benefit US workers. And so on. Importantly, he has no fear about criticizing Islamism. Today, this is fearlessness is a political requirement.

It is rational to elect Trump for presidency.
