Would Trump be telling us: Islam is the religion of peace?

Dr Pipes

With Steve Bannon and Sebastian Gorka gone we are now dealing with another significant shift in Trump's view of Islam and "radical Islamic terrorism" Now we are heading back to the view of Islam that prevailed during the Obama Administration and it would not surprise me if Trump rehires the likes of Dalia Mugahed, attends Ramadan iftars, and have an open door policy for CAIR, and visits Muslim Brotherhood mosques and refuse to designate the MB as a terrorist organization

Not too fast as is explained by Andrew McCarthy in an article in nationalreview on line and the title of the article is: "McMaster and the challenge of Sharia Supremacism" that there are two views of Islam in Washington DC:

1. (Islam is) a big problem that we need to work around

2. Or (Islam) is a part of the solution to our security problem

McCarthy believes that McMaster and at present Trump, more so following his trip to KSA, belong to the second option

It also means that the departure of both Bannon and Gorka means that option one is not an option for now and this is why it should not be surprising if Trump declares that Islam is the religion of peace

And one more broken promise by Trump that is another betrayal of his supporters

Islam and Muslims tell us that Islam is: Deen wa Dawla or Islam is a religion and a state which means that Islam combines the sacred (religion) and the profane (politics) into one or Islam is a political system not unlike communism with a thin patina of spiritualit. Again not unlike communism The only option we have when confronted with flawed human ideas in politics, as in the case of both Islam and communism, is to prove them wrong in the market place of ideas and reject them once and for all

Spritual Islam? We should have no difficulty with it as long as Muslim clerics don't incite violence and hate

PS: I'm sorry to say but Trump is a one term president

Daniel Pipes replies:

That anyone should have thought that Trump would be consistent or deliver on his promises shows poor judgment.
