Upsetting but not surprising

Given the predeliction of Islamist extremists to destroy whatever they deem unislamic, from statues to teapots to people, it is not a surprise that they would destroy precious historical manuscripts. They have no regard for history or interest in preserving anything not glorifying Islam. It is the height of isolationism and intolerance.

It says something that under Mubarak, there was at least some control over this barbarian mindset.
