Dear Mr. Ianus,

I completely agree with yours and Sibel 's views on the state of affaris in America. But the real thing is that Washington will continue to be ruled by lobbies whether the gun-lobbies , oil-lobbies or ... That is the nature of capitalism whereby strong interests tend to influence the powers in being for their own interests. Western democracies do not have any checks and balances against these. Look at Brussels , London or Paris or Berlin for that matter. Most issues in the Western capitals are decided in the air-conditioning back rooms beyond the awareness of the common populace.

You know Ianus , these oil ... lobbies were behind the sanctions which prevented medicines to be brought to Iraq . This resulted in the deaths of close to 1 Lakh children in Iraq from 1991-2003 , prior to the Bush invasion of Iraq.

It is beyond the population of the West to do anything to prevent these. The existing lobbies are just too powerful and industrious to do anything on this regard. Look at how the American media is not giving proper coverage of Ron Paul in the ongoing Republican race for nomination. I just want to know what would you suggest needed be done to prevent these ?
