Destruction of historical artifactsReader comment on item: L'Institut d'Égypte – In Memoriam Submitted by jean (China), Feb 19, 2012 at 02:19 Why do some religions feel so threatened by the existence of other religious artifacts, or even historical treasures that are not even religious? It is very sad that people in a religion could feel so threatened in their beliefs that they feel the need to destroy precious things like the Afghanistan statues, the egyptian giza structures, libraries, it is hard enough to preserve these treasures that link us to our past history without intentional and wanton destruction.
