Can a Christian be a Christian without following every rule in the Bible? If the answer is yes, then your quoting the passage in the Koran as grounds for saying my Muslim friends are not true muslims is not sustainable. However, if the answer is no, then I have nothing more to say.

Can one be dogmatic about being non-dogmatic?

The reason why I quoted the Cultural Revolution and the destruction of works of art when the subject was what's happening in Egypt was that both incidents involved the destruction of works of art, one due to the Red Guards blindly following Mao's teaching regarding the bad influence of bourgeoise/feudal art, and the other one due to the islamist's believes.

I am not defending the way the Islamists have been behaving, and believe me, I find he news regarding some of the things that were happening in the Middle East muslim countries abhorrent, but I just want to remind people that similar things had happened in Europe, in China and even in Central America during the time of the Conquistadores, and they all sprung from a blind belief in certain ideas. Until we, as human beings, recognize that we must be opened to discussion and debate, human society will repeat the same mistakes again and again.
