Well, look at it with their Moslem eyes for a moment.They want their Islam to control the future.How do you control the future?By controlling the past.How about things in the past you can't control?You must destroy them not to put your Islamic future in danger.

In this logic burning down a library or destroying Byzantine icons and Hindu statues is quite understandable and necessary.There is nothing strange,absurd or accidental in it.
