Rima Fakih won on her own merits. As a pageant fan and pageant organizer, the judges consider the overall impression, and not just how the contestant answer her question. Miss Oklahoma has the personality of a clam, and she hardly smiled during the preliminaries (which I attended). She's also your typical pageant patty. Miss Michigan on the other hand is vibrant, charismatic, full of personality, different, and genuine. She was obviously the kind of winner the judges were looking for. All these rants that Miss Oklahoma lost because of her pro-anti-illegal immigration stand and that Miss Michigan won because of her Arab/Muslim background are all pathetic speculations. If Rima wins Miss Universe, guess what? Miss Oklahoma gets to become Miss USA! So instead of crucifying Rima, you should be supporting her to win Miss Universe so your conservative gal Miss Oklahoma can be crowned Miss USA and we're all going to be happy!
