Affirmative Action? Definitely affirmative.

Reader comment on item: Affirmative Action in Beauty Contests?

Submitted by Cherif El-Ayouty (Denmark), May 19, 2010 at 06:14

I have a nagging question buzzing in my head for a year or so: Why on earth are there so many Westerners how are bending backwards to their heels (or forward to their knees like Obama) for Muslims? What grip do Muslims have on Westerners? Where is the source of the fear from or the wish to please Muslims even when they do not deserve it? I do not care what I could be called when saying that those beauty queens are all far below my standards of beauty. Affirmative action is already a dead brainer and is not used anymore, but within beauty pagants? This is ridiculous, even outrageous. Why are Westerners afraid of Muslims? Is it only a cultural thing where Westerners are jockeying to show off their tolerance, kindness and hospitality? Please anyone?
