Reader comment on item: Affirmative Action in Beauty Contests?

Submitted by Bill (United States), May 18, 2010 at 15:37

If Muslims took some "extremist side" and adopted some isolational views, you do not like it?? And if they opened their arms up and joined you in your "everyday cool" things, you suspect something fishy behind the scenes?? If I am a Muslim and reading your column I will have one question: What do you want me to do? Be fair... Do not point fingers to others especially if they are trying to come to you "your way".

Daniel Pipes replies:

There was no advice implicit in my analysis, either for Muslims to join beauty pageants or not. It is, in fact, a matter of total indifference to me.

Rather, I was commenting on the possible miindset of judges.
