To Be a Muslim...

Reader comment on item: Finding Allah in Unlikely Places
in response to reader comment: When I asked about becoming a Muslim...

Submitted by Mustafa (Turkey), Jan 11, 2009 at 15:45

Hi.

Unfortunately, I see there are too many Muslim people around me that don't know anything about Islam... Even there are some people who doesnt like being a Muslim.. But they don't leave their religion because of social reaction... They dont live like a muslim, they dont think like muslim, but on their ID cards, there is written: "Religion:Islam" It isnt enuogh to be a real Muslim... They believe in god but thats all about their religion... THey dont have shame to live like a non-muslim.. I am sad for them.. I am sad for all people who dont know Islam, who dont know Qur'an and who hasnt ever read the "Risale-i Nur Collection" ; the most powerful and best (in many people's opinion) commentary of Quran in that century...

If someone doesnt know his/her religion, he/she isnt a representative of his/her religion. So, we cannot think any religion is wrong because of the people who dont know anything about their religion...

Let's read the books of the religions and meet people who really try to live their religion...
