Q of showing respect or tolerance ?

Reader comment on item: Finding Allah in Unlikely Places
in response to reader comment: SHOW SOME RESPECT

Submitted by ahamed (United States), Feb 20, 2006 at 20:34

This analogy is totally wrong.

In order to show respect to my religion, I can't tell others not to follow their religion on my land (that's what most of the muslim countries are doing).

I can't ask an atheist to bow to my god in order to show respect to my religion.

Similarily you can't ask other free thinking western countries not to draw cartoons or animals in their countries, just because it's forbidden in your religion.

It's not a question of showing respect but a question of showing a little tolerance. isn't it !!
