in response to reader comment: It's A Question Of Respect

Yakoub, very good points and I agree with everything you said. There seems to be a certain arrogance implied in the demand that we all just respect a certain belief system out of hand. I know I for one would respect Muslims a lot more if millions of them all around the world would stop chanting "Death to America" every chance they got. It's pretty hard to respect those who wish death upon you. And I am aware that not all of them feel like that, but a significant enough number seem to.

When I first read this article and the Muslim responses to it, the first thought I had was that this was similar to a Rorschach Test.

You see in it what you want and it reflects your mindset. Just reading down over some of the responses, the thing that gobsmacked me is how many Muslims insisted that the word "Air" written across the back of the sneakers was really "Allah" despite all the explanations to the contrary. It's almost as though I found myself in some kind of wierd "Alice in Wonderland" world. And it is also kind of frightening IF this is the mindset of the average Muslim. I hope it is not, or we are in bigger trouble than we think.

As for your question, "What about all the Suras in the Quran that clearly show that Palestine belongs to the Jews?", well, I as a Christian have absolutely no idea.

But, here's another question to which I've never received a satisfactory answer: Since Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Quran and did not occupy any special role in Islam long after Mohammed's death, why is it of such significance to the Palestinians today?
