We have decided that the only way to be moral is to reclassify our moral dictums as mere possibilities, while allowing others to maintain moral certitude. This is the essence of conflict resolution. If you give up your right to believe in your own morality, it is easy to get along with everyone. You end up going along. Going along through life accepting everything as valid, right, and true. It certainly solves conflicts. It takes two to tango and what if they gave a war and nobody came? Remember that one? It is the empty headed short term solution. You just agree and agree and agree and pretty soon you get friends everywhere. Muslims, Methodists, Mormons, and Mexicans. Just agree with everyone. Its that easy.

We just need to really do it and disavow all the moral-ethical wisdom that brought about our western culture. We need to focus on all its failures and flaws and condemn it outright. Then we will be unoffensive to the others of other cultures who themselves have the perfect answer to all the ills that plague mankind. Of course our failure to join that culture would then be highly offensive to the others, and the only moral thing for us to do would be to repudiate our imperfect culture entirely and embrace the superior other culture that has all the answers. And we must be sure not to answer back.

My own moral compass points at a fire consuming copies of all the holy books of the world. The Bible and the Koran are right on top of the pile, ritually prepared, creating a column of smoke pleasing to God. That is what we really ought to do, oh my brothers and sisters! Burn all the stupid holy books together so the big scary spook in the sky will smell the stench and take a pill maybe. No matter what you call Him He is at His best when He is asleep, and we are better off too. Like any specter, He fades away if we just ignore Him. Why does He so need our crumby devotion anyway? What does He get from it? What is He lacking? Oh! I know! Existence! He lacks existence if we don't worship Him. C'est disappointment, non?
