Nice but naive Sarah

Sarah seems to have misplaced sympathies for people who would happily require her to
- live polygamously if her husband became a Muslim and chose to add wives,
- wear clothing chosen according to society's dictates, regardless of her views,
- forbid persons who wish to leave Islam to do so on pain of death,
- espouse the cutting of a sixteen year-old shoplifter's hand,
- kill homosexuals
- stone those caught in adultery
- shut off any public debate about the role of Islam in controlling society.

I'd like Sarah to grasp the difference between critique and oppression. Until people like her can make that distinction, how can we hope for the Muslim world to do so?
