Reader comment on item: Columbia University vs. America

Submitted by jonathan turkel (United States), Apr 1, 2003 at 13:02

when i heard about degenova's comments last week i emailed him to denounce his comments and were i a columbia grad i would call on the university to fire him since he is not tenured.his previous reprehensible comments about israel and the holocaust were familiar to me .given that his comments were directed at american troops and jews it is highly unlikely that he will be fired

as a lawyer, i know that he can pretty much say what he wants. however, columbia does not have to provide him a forum for his perverted views. why don't we exercise our first amendment rights and picket degenova's classes?
