I support Professor DeGenova's rights, will he support mine?

Presumably the largest majority of Americans, and perhaps the global population, support the right to free speech. In America, it bears equal weight, with any other aspect of our political system, to the preservation of our democracy. So, I endorse and encourage people like Professor DeGenova to employ this right; in his case, he has done so quite passionately. Given a life-long military and law-enforcement service to my country, as well as my tolerance for (what I perceive to be) his harsh words, I am certain that the professor will embrace my opinion with equal support and tenacity.

That being said, I believe that the true heroes of the American way of life are those who are willing to destroy the people who endorse or encourage any subsversive means to defeat those individuals serving to protect America. I, unlike the professor who intimates a course of action, but lacks the intestinal fortitude to venture any further out onto the limb of free speech, offer a more succint suggestion:

Let those individuals, whom are already predisposed to ignoring legal, social, religious, moral and ethical prohibitions against violence, engage in any manner they deem appropriate to discourage the learned professor from making similar comments and [ideally] encourage him to reevaluate his previous comments and consider a paradigm shift.

What a wonderful epitaph that would make: "He died for a greater cause".
