Columbia University's sponsorship of hate

Reader comment on item: Columbia University vs. America

Submitted by anonymous (United States), Apr 1, 2003 at 12:43

It's about time somebody talked about what really goes on at Columbia University. The very professors named above not only perpetuate hate against the US, but also encourage students not to vote, to boycott American products, to speak out openly against the US government and of course, let's not forget the venom they spew day in and day out against Israel, spreading their hateful propaganda through "facts" that are gross perversions of reality, if they even have anything to do with reality. It is forbidden to hold any opinion other than the official view adopted by Edward Said and his disciples.

There are other professors, not mentioned in the article, who are as active in hating the US and Israel as the others. As a former student there, I was told not to take action against these injustices, for the consequences could be "serious". I never did understand what that meant. When I had the courage to argue with my professors in class, I was always shot down and shut up. Based on their policies, this academic institution of higher learning, supposedly one of the best in the world, should be renamed ... What an embarassment to academia.
