Columbia is the norm

Reader comment on item: Columbia University vs. America

Submitted by Glenn Klotz (United States), Apr 1, 2003 at 10:51

Unfortunately such thinking goes way beyond Columbia and is probably the norm on many of America's elite Colleges and University's today. Of course most of these Profs. realize all too well that it's only in America or in the west that they can spew this nonsense and not be taken out and shot. Let them try to get away with this kind of "truth" in any of the Islamic or Socialist paradises around the world like China ,North Korea,Vietnam,Cuba, Libya, Sudan and Saudi Arabia, etc. and see how fast they're silenced or worse.

To be blunt, these ... are hypocrites who live off of our taxes and have the guts to vomit up their hatred of the very hand that feeds them.

But that is the point, isn't it? Here in America we really do believe in free speech even from those who hate us. Nevertheless, it's not necessary for the rest of us to have to pay for the privilege of their brillance and some of these clowns should be booted onto the street, where they can still get up on a soap box and rant and rave about America as long as they don't block traffic.
