Pipes-Livingstone debate - Daniel wins hands down!

Reader comment on item: My Debate with London Mayor Ken Livingstone
in response to reader comment: Livingstone Humbled

Daniel, I attended the conference and was most impressed by your speech and also pleasantly surprised by how much support you had in the audience. I listened afterwards to audience reaction while enjoying the free lunch that Ken so generously supplied (I'm a Londoner so at least got something back from my council taxes) and heard a number of delegates saying what a sensible chap they thought you were and that "Ken's a nice bloke with his heart in the right place but he's living in cloud cuckoo land."

The Respect Party woman really blew it big time when she talked about the "reprisals" of the 7/7 bombings. The reaction from the audience was visceral. You could feel any sympathy she had garnered melting away in front of you.

You couldn't have picked a better speaker to back you up - Mr Murray is a very articulate and convincing speaker in the grand tradition of the true free thinking British radical right. If it hadn't been for yours and his presence, the whole event would have been a wishy washy, pc, bland affair with very little bite.
