Debate a turning point in the ideological war -a victory for the West - defeat for leftist Islamist alliance

Reader comment on item: My Debate with London Mayor Ken Livingstone

Submitted by Ben van de Polder (United States), Jan 23, 2007 at 08:29

Dr.Pipes should have been accorded a hero's welcome upon his return to the United States.

Not only did he and Douglas Murray score a resounding victory against the leftist Islamist alliance in the eyes of trhe world -the debate has been described by many as a turning point in the ideological war.

Dr.Pipes himself has written in an article entitled "Op-Eds (opinons and ideas) Now More Central in War then Bullets'". http://www.danielpipes.org/article/4059

As commentator and author David Pryce -Jones put it :

"The war on terror has a long way still to go, but victorious battles like this one in a debating hall may mean fewer, or even no, future battles in the field or on the streets" http://pryce-jones.nationalreview.com/post/?q=NzU3MWUxYWI1Y2RkZGQ3YzcxYzA2ZmJjMjYzODI0MmQ=

Dr. Daniel Pipes is our generation's Paul Revere and Douglas Murray is Britain's Churchill.
