Why, indeed, no MSM?

Reader comment on item: My Debate with London Mayor Ken Livingstone
in response to reader comment: Why no MSM?

Jonathan, I wonder if we can take the silence of the MSM (who, after all, showed up in droves) as a sign of their acknowledgment of the sound defeat of that moron, Ken Livingstone and his Islamist's by Dr. Pipes and his coalition of the morally sound, sane and intellectually well- informed? It may be time to retire the phrase "Main Stream Media" now that what was once mainstream is increasingly marginalized by significant numbers of people seeking (and finding) more authentically newsworthy sources.

Dr. Pipes has admirably stayed the middle course, and while I no longer believe Islam contains anything inherently worthwhile, Daniel Pipes, by maintaining a distinction between moderate and radicalized Islam, has allowed for dialog amongst reasonable people ... and for Islam to dig its own grave as it repeatedly sends Islamically trained people (who remain committed to that training) into any public forum obviously and throughly ill equipped for reasonable debate.

As loonies like Livingston publicly align themselves with Islamists, reasonable people (who are willing to work for their news) do take note. I have great faith in the application of Reason - and from the reliable blog reports of this conference, it would appear that the majority of those on site shared this faith and came down firmly on the side of reason. Of central moral importance was this from Aaronovitch: "While war was a calamity, tyranny was the great understated calamity."

Currently, Islam is the greatest tyrannical force on the face of this earth. The MSM, while still a supporting force of other tyrannies (and especially, Islamism), is, I believe, steadily losing ground to truth and reason. The Free Press is now located online - freely available to billions of readers. Now that's Mainstream!
