Palestinans?

Reader comment on item: How Israel Can Win

Submitted by Elaine Nugent (United States), Apr 4, 2006 at 23:40

To begin with, when we call Arabs "Palestinians" we are giving in to their fantasy..Where does the name come from?

A few thousand years ago when the ancient Romans conquered Judea, they changed its name to "Palestine." It was an insult.. Palestine" comes from the root word "Philistine." The latter were mortal enemies of the Jews. Goliath was a Philistine and a young King David killed him. It was only after 1948 that Arabs started calling themselves "Palestinans," and the world swallowed that lie!
