Iran is NOT named after German "Aryans".

Reader comment on item: How Israel Can Win
in response to reader comment: Iran is Aryan

Iran is the ancient name of Persia. Indo-Aryan tribes settle here in almost 3000 years ago. The word Aryan has nothing to do with Germany. It is derived from ancient Indo-Aryan languages such as Sanskrit and Asvestia. The Nazi's adopted the word after some of their elite read ancient Indian texts on the Hindu caste system and as the philosophy mirrored their own strange views thought it was a good idea to poach the philosophy and the symbols (i.e. like the Swastika - which incidently is NOT German but Sanskrit. It means Good fortune).

Current day Iran's attitude to Israel and the Jews has nothing to do with its ancient Aryan beginings. Current day Iran is clear evidence of a once great independent nation gone hay-wire because it has adopted a warped view of Islam - a kind of heretical Islam! Jews that went to India perhaps 2000 years ago after the destruction of their Temple testify that under the Indo-Aryans of India they suffered no privations or progroms as they did in Europe and the Middleeast. So just because some screwball Germans decided to kill Jews using a warped philosphy under the guise of "Aryanism" does not mean that real Aryans were or are against the Jews.
