Reader comment on item: How Israel Can Win

Submitted by robert fusfeld (United States), Apr 4, 2006 at 20:06

Dr. Pipes:

The international community will never allow Israel "to win." To win means crushing, once and forever the Palestinian menace, and their key allies. Their key allies, Syria, Saudi, Iran, and Europe merely support these 'thugs" to maintain a totalitarian hegemony over their own populations. And, all the restraint from the United States is foremost involved in destroying Israel, one piece at a time. The anti-Jewish sentiment in our State Department continues. It has been this way since WWII and continues. Israel was nothing but a token ally during the Cold War. Today it rests in the midst of a foreign policy bolstered by religious zealots so enthralled with the end times and the plains of Mergiddo that they will sacrifice every man, woman, and child on this planet.

I understand clearly you do not accept the mystical and occult nature of Islam and the West. But, until you begin to discuss how this is playing in the entirety of the Middle East, you, sadly, miss the boat.

Finally, your comments would be welcomed on Orianna Falacci's latest writing on Eurabia. A sad tale indeed. And, a pronouncement that it is too late.

Thank you, Dr. Pipes for your interesting commentaries and hosting a "democratic" and intelligent discussion here.
