Reader comment on item: Americans Wake Up to Islamism

Submitted by American Wisdom (United States), Sep 26, 2010 at 22:56

I don't believe that there is such a thing as moderate Islam. The pundits speak of it, but yet fail to provide the example of where it exists. The man behind the Cordoba project in lower Manhattan is supposedly a "moderate" Muslim, but yet, as more and more is revealed about his background, it seems to me that he is not as much a moderate as his supporters want the people to believe.

If there is such a thing as moderate Islam, then why doesn't it show its face? Where is it hiding? If it is not seen or felt, then it is not defending western values against radical Islamism. Its silence is a sign of its acceptance of the current face of Islam. If it is not actively, and loudly confronting radicalism, then it is not a signficant factor in Islam.
