Reader comment on item: Americans Wake Up to Islamism
in response to reader comment: Islamists by design, Media Bias and Political Correctness

I keep returning to this topic over and over as I'm really concerned about the once clear objectivity of Daniel Pipes. I have had enormous admiration and respect for him for so long, but am astonished at not only this here reversal in his once very well informed comments on Islam and the Middle East, but also his non-comments on quite a few responses that seem to state the agendas of Islam much more truly.

I am surprised at his few responses having so little of any substance in answer to those who disagree with his article here. I'm concerned about what may be affecting his once clear objectivity. The Muslims are intimidating many American institutions in a multitude of ways. I've wondered about Mr. Pipes' own vulnerabilty to Muslim intimidation tactics. As one of this planet's most informed and fearless commentators, he has to be under increasing pressure to knuckle under to their thumb, surely a high priority target.

I seldom come back to any older articles or their forums, but this one bothers and nags at me continually.

Daniel Pipes replies:

I can assure you that I am not vulnerable to intimidation. I speak my mind freely and openly on the subjects that I study. That opinion is going too far against Islam is something I battle no less than opinion that will not acknowledge the problems with Islam.
