Islam masquerades as a benign tumor

Reader comment on item: Americans Wake Up to Islamism

Good clinical practice and immunology will excise a tumor even if it is benign. Before they are cancerous they are first benign. Daniel, I've been concerned, and maybe I should worry about your sympathy for benign pathologies AKA moderate Islam? I applaud your good will and broadmindedness. But I don't think it is going to work.

Islamic terror begins as moderate Islam, in some village, in some school, some university campus or at some Mosque with a "guest speaker", somewhere. The places are everywhere, just in need of that voice that Moderate Islam has shown no perception to interdict at any level.

Moderate Islamic "religion" is the problem, not its radical progeny. A religion that purports to speak for God, instills in its members that it is the only true religion, is the Petri dish, albeit contaminated, the very moderate culture from which radicals thrive.

What you are saying is that moderate Islam must be ironic, in that while it is certified as moderate (what it desperately wants us to believe) it must also be radical enough to detect, isolate and extinguish its own activism. No where has it done this in a reflection of a truly systemic immunology. Perhaps some isolated policy but not a deep tenet which easily abounds from "moderate Islam". So, paradoxically, this means that a new radical Islam is the answer to its own effective immunology required to remove the polar radicals, those that make Islam from a benign tumor to the malignant. We need them to be radical to police, to care for their own faith, to be janitorial custodians providing the world the service they simply do not have, the power and perception to intercept malignancies far before they become destructive.

Why this wont happen. It takes power and conviction to do this, to actually be preemptive and police your own members. You must have a motivation and a culture coupled with a tremendous will to accomplish this effort. It is an effort that cannot sleep, and it will be a new strain of Islam that has not existed before in any success.

You are asking for an energized and a "new aged" self-cleaning Islam must be on a vigil from assassination/sabotage, an effort in which Sadat failed. Power and conviction are earmarks of being radical enough to be successfully moderate in its own Petri dish. It is a consuming endeavor which most Muslims have no vision or motivation to employ. They have to believe this or only the virulent strains of radicals end up leading. They are going to do this because the Judeo-Christian west recommends it?

They simply want to "exist" in any reasonable state even if it is a benign dictatorship...or Shariah, or even living in a nation of infidels like the USA mistaking our peace as if it were made just for them by Allah. They are indiscriminate and simply do not care. But allah's peace is wrought like the Roman's, obliteration of all else on the landscape, "they make a desert and call it peace". Tacitus/Calgacus

They are here to "game" our democracy, by attrition, by growing numbers they will turn from the appearance of the benign to the malignant. They are not here to participate in strengthening democracy.
