Reader comment on item: Americans Wake Up to Islamism
in response to reader comment: More historical anology than realised by No-Santa Claus

Submitted by There is NO Santa Claus (aka TINSC) (United States), Sep 10, 2010 at 20:50

"Richer Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran overcharge for petrol and thrive; poorer Muslim countries send millions of poor immigrants not to richer Muslim countries, but to non-Muslim countries where they have a permanant sense of resentment, inferioty complex and longing for sharia."

Why didn't I think of that! Thank you for your astute observation.

Reading Dr. Robert Zubrin's book "Energy Victory" I am well aware of the economic devastation OPEC has caused developing nations, some of which are Muslim. Until I read your response, I never connected the dots relating OPEC's economic plunder and the influx of Muslim immigrants to industrialized countries (i.e. Europe and N. America). I concur that there is a cause/effect relationship.

Whether your thesis constitutes a "historical analogy" or not, it is an astute observation and one that I share. I hope Dr. Pipes read your response.
