Reader comment on item: Americans Wake Up to Islamism
in response to reader comment: reference based Islam

Hossain of Bangladesh writes:

".But if the general says kill the citizen of Afghanistan what would be the reaction?"
the response to that leading question is there would be an outcry and the general would be stripped of his rank and courtmartialled.

"...So for Ur kind information read the verse of quran: 2-190 :Fight them who fight against U but don't cross the limit Allah does not like who cross the limit. That's mean just only against them who fight against U. Brother in battle field there r huge precondition, you can't kill innocent male, female, children and elderly"

the thing is EVERYBODY apart from Muslims - has this understanding without being told by a Koran. It's not necessary to attribute the non-killing of armless civilians as being an Islamic thing. It is more or less universal.

"...But what we see in Afghanistan r NATO soldiers maintaining these conditions. They r killing people randomly."
That simply is not true and just serves to demonstrate your biases. Allied soldiers do not go around randomly killing harmless civilians. They are subject to strict military law which clearly defines the rules of engagement.

There may have been isolated instances - and there are definitely unfortunate but relatively rare 'collateral 'deaths as a result of the use of explosives. Coalition troops do not leave ied's lying around roadsides for their children to tread on.

".... I hope U r intellectual?"
Why hope that I am 'intellectual'? You think if you present a 'reasonable' argument I will be influenced towards seeing Islam as anything less than the most retrograde of all the major religions?

Despite intellect being a somewhat limited facility - you don't need much of it to see how the human predilection for self-delusion has ensnared millions of people into the belief that they and they alone have 'the truth'.

" U have huge patience to know the real fact within the context."
The old 'context' thing again? Why is it that in the Talmud or the New Testament or Patanjali's sutras or Buddhist scriptures etc - there's no splitting of hairs, It's all there quite clearly. No looking for loopholes, no contextual subtleties that only those who 'really do know' can understand.

"Brother for better understanding Quran we should not go out of context."
and what context would that be? Have the Taliban gone 'out of context' too? Hezbollah? Lashkar-e-Taiba - ( the 'army of the pure!') Al Qaeda? Jemaat Islamiya? Hezb-ut-tahrir, the Muslim Brotherhood?

What context do the people shown in the video of actual events at this site have?
