How to save Muslims from Islam…

Dr. Pipes,

I follow most of your writings, but am going to differ a little bit this time. Islam nowadays is not going to destroy the west alone. It's going to destroy the whole world including Muslims themselves.

You lived and studied in Egypt and I did the same (and more) in Saudi Arabia. In your writings and speeches, you, in my humble opinion, seemed to be having so much hope about so called moderate Muslims; unfortunately, I don't think the moderate exist. Now let's be brave and face the reality, what ever the reality is.

Let's be civil, honest but realistic. Are the Arabs ever going to be friends with us, whatever good deed we do to them? The answer is no. Won't happen ever. Think of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Their survivals depend on the West, yet when listening to their propagandas; it's the most hateful on this planet.

What went wrong? How to fix it? What should we do?

We have to identify the problems before trying to solve them.

• Recent examples, we liberated Kuwait, protected Saudi Arabia. Na├»ve we were… we thought we were helping friends.

• Millions of the west money went and is still going to Egypt and other Muslim countries. This is 100% waste of our tax dollars. We are not appreciated for the help, so stop this waste.

I could write pages of the useless help to the Arabs and Muslim countries.

What did we do wrong?

Was liberating Kuwait worth it? I lobbied for it but now I doubt my judgment.

Is protecting Saudi Arabia also worth it? Undeniably, I lobbied for it and now have second thoughts.

In my observation, there is something wrong with our friends, the Muslims (Arabs in particular). They hate the west, east, north, south and in between including themselves. They will always demand something that they know for sure that you could not afford. And would refuse to accept anything that you are able to give. No compromise, it's all or none, It does not mean that they're bad or evil it just the way they are.

Saudi's and gulf state people cannot stand Palestinians and the Palestinians would cheer for the other Arabs destruction. When Saddam invaded Kuwait and threatened Saudi Arabia all Palestinians were cheerful and hoping for Saddam to continue. Only the west knew something was not right.

What we got? Nothing, it's all have been forgotten.

Again, what went wrong? Is it really worth helping? Is there a moderate Muslims (Arabs)?

I think there is none. Don't try to fool ourselves. There are no moderates but there are Arabs and Muslim who cheered when the Twin Towers collapsed on 911, who cheered when US soldiers are blown up by roadside bombs. There are no moderates Dr. Pipes, you have false hopes for the future.

What must we do? I really don't know but the west is not the enemy of Arabs or Muslims. East is not either. Arabs are the enemy of themselves. After 911 we cannot wait to watch the Muslims destroy themselves because they will take us to grave with them.

I think that we should stop searching for the so called moderate Muslims because they are either cowards or nonexistent. I believe the latter.

If Arabs invade other Arab countries, leave them alone, it does not serve us any good what so ever. Let's identify our mistakes and learn some lessons.

Stop our tax dollars that go to Muslim countries, it's a waste whether we help or not. It doesn't make a difference.

If another Saddam pops up, so be it. It's not going to be worse. By the way, if we had let Saddam take Kuwait, then for our national interest it would not be worse than it is now. Lesson learned.

Best regards,
