In the recorded history of humanity religions have been one of the prime reasons of war, conflicts and murders. There are many examples in the past and now. Crusades, Balkan conflicts, India versus Pakistan, Irish Republican Army against English Protestants, in Iraq Shiites against Sunnis, September 11 murder in New York, etc.

All these terrible acts have had religious motivation or at least religious underpinnings. Voltaire put it very well , if someone can make you believe in absurdities (religious absurdities ) he can also make you commit atrocities. Let us face the truth, any fantastic beliefs created by ancient primitive people who had no knowledge of the real world should not be the basis of our life philosophy. This is like we would want to build a space ship based on mechanics known by Babylonians. In other words the sooner religions disappear the better for humanity. If Christ ianity and Islam never existed the towers of Trade Center in New York would be still standing tall.

Religions have created the terrible idea of the paradise for martyrs. and murderers in the name of god. Hitler's soldiers had belt buckles with the inscription Gott Mit Uns.(god with us). .How many people were killed in the WWII .Probably around 30 million. Is this enough to convimce a reasonable person that the belief in gods is a lethal concept. You do not need to read the Old Testament describing many murders, rapes, wars and atrocities either approved or encouraged by tyrannical , immoral god.
