Reader comment on item: On Islam and Islamism

We should not confuse the issue of the agressive Islamism with the much more general issue of religions .The three Abrahamic religions rooted in Judaism are dangerous delusions that have created a sea of blood and enormous amount of human suffering in the last 3,000 years. Dawkins and Hitchens are perfectly correct saying that the humanity has to reevaluate the religious beliefs and start moving to purely human based philosophy of life throwing out all primitive myths about gods, afterlife and other nonsensical ideas.

The history of human race demonstrates that the only valid path to knowledge of reality is science. We have enough experience and evidence that scientific tools of logic and methodology allow us to develop increasingly more sophisticated civilizations.

On the other hand we also know that all revealed truth is not a truth at all but comes from our barbaric ,primitive and infantile past. Making people believe that Moses talked to god who was behind a burning bush, that Christ walked on water or that Muhammad was taken to heaven on a winged hosrse is a very dangerous insanity.

If you make people believe in such nonsense you can make them savages and murder each other who believe in a different nonsense . Humanity has to recognize that killing others for God's sake is as wrong as killing people for money or other reasons. We should reject the idea that god is on our side. The Hitlerian Gott Mit Uns should be totally rejectedc by humanity. We are far from implementing this radical proposition but philosophers and writers such as Dawkins, Harris or Hitchens should be supported and helped to diminish the deeply rooted religious poisonous fictions.
