OKAY, HAMID, HAVE IT YOUR WAYReader comment on item: [Moderate] Voices of Islam Submitted by DANIEL REDMOND (United States), Nov 20, 2007 at 20:26 Hamid, since you insist upon maintaining that Muslims are non-violent and that the Quran does not preach violence of any kind, let's just say that you've convinced me, okay? Muslims have never resorted to terrorism to make their point. There have been no Islamic suicide bombers or ariel terrorists. Muslims do not stone women to death for petty crimes like prostitution. Islam does not demand the chopping off of hands for theft and the chopping off of heads for adultery. No woman is ever flogged under Sharia for having been the victim of rape and no father or brother ever murdered his daughter or sister for having had sex out of wedlock. There are no cases of Muslims misbehaving in Europe and when a Danish newspaper ran a few cartoons mocking the Prophet Mohammad Muslims did not riot violently all around the globe in protest. There is no such concept within Islam of Dar al-Islam and Dar al-Harb [the lands of Islam, and the lands of warfare not yet conquered by Islam] and no mention is made of that within the Quran itself. So let's just say that I believe all that to be true, thanks to the incredibly rational and well-thought out arguments you've presented in this forum. And if anyone else out there also believes this to be true there is a very large bridge in Brooklyn, New York that I own and would like to sell them, along with some beautiful ocean-front property near Davenport, Iowa. Have a nice day!
