AfghanistanReader comment on item: 100 Bin Ladens on the Way? Submitted by Robert J. Hiza (United States), Apr 8, 2003 at 08:59 On our apparent victory in Afghanistan, I have two questions: 1- Isn't it true that the war/drug lords, who's opium production was curtailed under the Taliban, were just too happy to see the Taliban gone. We've put them back in the drug business. This it a good development??? and 2- If news reports are to be believed, Karzai rules Kabul and not much more. Is this true? If Karzai is viewed by the masses as an American puppet, how will he ever be an effective leader?IMHO, if we don't handle post-Taliban Afghanistan just right, we could create something worse than we eradicated.
