Your Nomination to USIP

I sent the following email to The White House this morning. I'm sure others are showing their support as well:

Mr. President:

I strongly urge you not to yield to the extremist Islamist (and fellow traveler) push to derail Mr. Pipes' nomination to the USIP.

Mr. Pipes' writings (of which I am a voracious consumer) truly do reflect a desire to promote moderate Islam as the antidote to the extremist variety that unfortunately is threatening our Republic. I am confident that he would do the same regarding any religion or, I'm sure, no religion.

He has been a voice in the wilderness regarding certain Middle East issues and, I believe, will approach his duties with the USIP honestly and even-handedly.
