Terrorism response will decline

Reader comment on item: 100 Bin Ladens on the Way?

I agree with Daniel Pipes' assessment. He, of course, brings in a historical perspective even though I am aware of only a recent history to these types of terrorist responses.

Terrorists (or any aggressor) seem to understand only one thing really and that is strength. This is one of the main reasons we had to go into Iraq and take down Saddam's regime, in my opinion. The only other alternative would have been to sit and wait for future attacks and do nothing as the radical terrorists continue to build up their opposition in relative peace.

Radical Islamic terrorists seem to view the U.S. and Europeans as weak since we had little public response to past attacks against us. The September 11th attack, however, resulted in a different response from one they probably expected. Fortunately we had, and still have, a strong, discerning, and worthy President in office who believes in defending American interests. Eventually radical groups will again build up, but we will have to continue to knock them down.
