see: comment by Ralph, October 19, 2002Reader comment on item: Islam's Future Submitted by Vic (Canada), Aug 29, 2003 at 14:28 I don't believe that there is a war between religions. I do firmly believe that all religions were inspired with good intentions and trying to promote peace. That is what all the handreeds of prophets did.The war is between civilizations unfortunately. And I've found two interesting facts in the history: 1. When big empires try to expand and make a war against their neighbors; and 2. When small sub-nations try to destroy the country they live in. And the most dangerous in the contemporary times is the second one, because we do not expect any big powerfull 'empires' to be created and insulting others in our days. To the contrary, the sub-nations are now very active in terrorism. Analyse yourself: north Irelands in UK, Basks in Spain, Kurds in Turkey, Armenians in the former USSR, Arabs in Palestine, etc... They are of totally different backgrounds and religions, but they use the same techniques... So let's stop please discussion about religions like which is good and which is bad. Let us better look into other directions and try to understand what makes Armenians, Arabs, Basks, etc. terrorists. I believe that there are more than one reason...
