Change or die

Militant Islam hates/fears the West because they know that extended contact with the West will force Islam to change into something very different. So much so, that Islam as they know it will die. That is one of their most important reasons for fighting the West.

The bottom line is, will Islam as they know it die by evolving into something that can peacfully coexist with the West, or will militant Islamists continue to fight until one side wins and the other loses? You are optimistic about the evolution of Islam, I am not.
